Shen Jingdong
Contemporary artist. Born in 1965 in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China.
Graduated from the Art Class of Nanjing Xiaozhuang Normal School in 1984.
Graduated with a major in Printmaking from the Art Department of Nanjing University of the Arts in 1991.
Served in the Frontline Art Troupe of the Political Department of the Nanjing Military Region from 1991 to 2008, working as a stage art designer.
Later settled in Beijing and became a professional artist, currently working and living in both Beijing and Nanjing.

Artistic Style and Characteristics
Shen Jingdong is renowned for his distinctive "ceramic-textured" painting style. His works blend cartoon-like imagery with the humor of Pop Art, featuring naive and endearing forms and bright, vivid colors, giving them a highly recognizable quality. He excels at simplifying complex social phenomena and serious themes, conveying profound insights into reality and warm compassion through humorous and witty visual language.
