On the afternoon of June 28, 2026, Define Happiness: Qingdao Edition officially opened at Gallery Hall No. 3 of V-Exit Art Museum. The project was curated and produced by a team led by emerging artist Sofya Postnikova, and marks the first community-based investigative interactive project supported by Exit V Art Museum.



The international curatorial team includes Cora Yang, Alejandra Uribe, Hanna Siankevich, Vandita Sahay, and Camila Gonzalez. The project drew on months of research, interviews, and community engagement. The team engaged in in-depth conversations with local residents, students, artists, business owners, and newcomers, gathering diverse perspectives on what makes life in Qingdao meaningful.

When meaning itself becomes blurred, how do we define "happiness"? It may sound like an alien echo from beyond our time—yet perhaps this very "echo" is precisely what compels each participant to pause, to look inward, and to seize the opportunity to reflect on what we are doing and what we truly want.
